Synopsis
Held in Seoul, the SUUM Art Forum 2024 was very wide-ranging. This panel was moderated by the ever incisive Martine d'Anglejan Chatillon and benefited greatly from the perspectives of the artists Kimsooja and Ralph Nauta of Drift (who impressively arrived straight from Burning Man). I made the case against a total pivot toward screen-based immersive art. After the panel, Brazilian curator Marcello Dantas told me that on the panel my language was "surgically precise". Which I took as a compliment. But take a look and judge for yourself.... (Oddly enough, the simultaneous translation in Korean plays as a sort of undertone in this video.)
