Synopsis
Artist, educator and NewCrits founder Ajay Kurian invited me onto his Spent podcast. Quite counter to the podcast's name, this was a spirited - and at times even optimistic - conversation that covered everything from how I got into the art world to aftermath of my recent New York Times Opinons article. Also we dug into AI so much that sometimes it felt like an artworld version of Hard Fork (RIP). As NewCrits wrote: “Marc shares his perspective on financialization, speculation, collecting, and what a healthier, more sustainable art ecosystem could look like. This is a conversation about leadership, markets, and how the art world can continue to evolve without losing sight of the artists at its center.”
