Synopsis
Profile of Art Basel Director Sam Keller, at a time when Art Basel Miami Beach had fully conquered America. Little did I know I was learning my future job from the master, as I shadowed him: 'Socialising lets Keller constantly take the temperature of the art world, gauging its trends and tendencies... Never slowing down during such events, Keller can move across huge swathes of the art world in a few hours.' Famously indefatigable, Keller noted: 'In most cases when I travel, my entire day is strictly scheduled, from breakfast onwards. Well, after midnight it's not so strictly scheduled.' I took this to heart, and it saved me.
