Synopsis
My Suck takedown of a particularly unctious Details advertorial spread, drawn in "cool comix"style. Fronted by a stunt-blading hipster and cluttered with slacker clichés, it was a tone-deaf graphic novella that reads more like a parody of lifestyle marketing than a reinvention of it. For Suck's irony-addicted readers, I tried to imagine the brand-agency meeting that manifested this miscarried marketing stunt. My editor was Ana Marie Cox, now a premier political commentator.
