Synopsis
In 2006, Art Basel Miami Beach launched its Kabinett section to nudge galleries toward deeper curatorial ambition. Jamileh Weber of Zurich staged a standout: a room of rare Rauschenbergs drawn from the artist’s personal holdings. Vienna’s Galerie Krinzinger used the platform to screen key films by the Vienna Actionists, dealer Thomas Krinzinger admitted was financially irrational but artistically essential. In a fair driven by market logic, Kabinett offered a reminder that the right framing can make the impossible booth possible.
