Synopsis
Short, positive review of young Dutch artist Rezi van Lankveld at the Approach, a cool gallery situated above a pub in London's East End. At first , I wrote, 'the paintings appeared muddy, their murky forms seemed abstract and haphazard. But after a few moments, shapes started to emerge at first only in the roughest outlines and then in detail. It was somewhat like watching a boat approach through fog, each passing second bringing a new aspect of the vessel to light.'
