Synopsis
Short piece on architect Philippe Stuebi's glass-walled library project for a Zurich modernist house teeming with thousands of rare books, many of them centuries old. Not easy, given the destructive effect sunlight has on books. The glass was cast in Germany, sent to Luxembourg for a treatment that blocks UV rays, and mirror-finished back in Germany.
