Synopsis
Short piece on the Technologiebeteiligungsgesellschaft, a branch of the German government that placed investments in startups. This was necessary as German VCs were quite risk-averse. But the TBG let them bet their money on twice as many companies. In the end, the first Tech Crash wiped out most of the companies the TBG invested into - along with the magazine I wrote this for. 🤷‍♂️
